Creatine: Best Type To Supplement For Strength
When the effectiveness of creatine monohydrate became clear in the hundreds of studies that have been performed on it. A number of other forms of creatine started to pop up. Researchers wanted to find a way to improve the benefits gain from it. This has result in an absorbed number of different types of creatine that are now available to buy. Each type have its slight benefits over the last. But which one out of them all is really the best type of creatine for strength?
Of the many types of creatine, there are only 2 that really stand out. The first you may already be familiar with, it is creatine monohydrate and the second you might not know about as it is relatively new, it is Kre-Alkalyn.
Which Is Better Creatine Monohydrate Or Kre-Alkalyn?
To answer this question we must look at each type of creatine individually before we can make a comparision. Starting with creatine monohydrate, what we know about it, is that it is one of the most researched supplements out on the fitness and bodybuilding market. Creatine monohydrates benefits, side effects and use has all been well documented to the point where I would say with an above level of confidence that it is the most researched and well understood supplement that bodybuilders and athletes can take to increase their physical performance today. In fact most of the studies done on creatine and its performance in the body is done through the supplementation of creatine monohydrate.
On the other hand Kre-Alkalyn has shown to be more effective in research performed. Outperforming creatine monohydrate on a gram by gram comparison. Furthermore participants in those studies that supplemented Kre-Alkalyn had a lower amount of reported side effects than that of creatine monohydrate.
While Kre-Alkalyn at the moment sounds like it could be the better and more effective choice. The research and studies performed on it are funded by the manufacture / brands of Kre-Alkalyn. This possibly leads to bias results from those studies. Additionally, there have also been a limited amount of studies performance on Kre-Alkalyn, which is substantially lower than amount of studies and research performed on creatine monohydrate. Which make it hard to verify the results from those limited studies and further limit the understanding of its use, benefits and side effects.
Potential Kre-Alkalyn could be the better creatine supplement but at the moment there is just not enough research. Creatine monohydrate however has hundreds of studies that have proven its effectiveness, use, benefits and side effects. Based on peer reviewed research and studies, the best type of creatine in my opinion and in others opinions is the creatine monohydrate.
